I'm probably posting this to the wrong forum. Hopefully, somebody can point in the right direction.
I'm doing Windows Store App development on 3 different boxes. On the other two boxes which are newer, everything works just fine.
The current box is a Dell XPS Studio Desktop box with 6 gig ram, which was upgraded from Vista to Win 8 to Win 8.1. This box is about 4 years old After the 8.1 upgrade, I find that mouse clicks almost never register with the button or link I'm clicking on the first click. The second or third click over the same button does work.
- Is this a fixable problem? I've only been able to find a mouse-button patch for a gaming issue, and installing didn't help my problem.
- Is this a common problem on older desktop boxes without touch screens? I need to know that because my current employer has only purchased one touch-screen laptop to be passed around. If testers run into the same problems using older hardware, they will blame my software. Or worse, they will want to completely dismiss Windows 8 and stick with Windows 7, which I think would be a mistake.
Thanks...
Randy
