Desktop Icons

I want to "hide" desktop icons, especially one in particular:  Wild Tangent.  But I like seeing my Recycle bin.  I've deleted the Wild Tangent icon several times after exiting the program/site, but every time I reopen, another icon is planted on my desktop.  I see where we can show/hide windows component icons, but I would like two additional options:  hide "unwanted", and force the code generated by something like Wild Tangent for the icon a temp file that could be deleted when I run Disk Cleanup.  Will y'all give that some thought?

Thanks in advance,
